I recently asked my husband what brings him joy. He answered, “It’s the small things, like a good meal or seeing someone crack a really great smile.” To be honest, at that moment, I was kind of annoyed. I was looking for a grand statement. But in retrospect, his answer gave me inspiration for World Water Day and made me love him a little more.

In a hurried world, we often underestimate the power of the small. A single discounted feeling, a moment of unsafety, or an instance of scarcity can leave a lasting mark. But we also savor one kind word, a moment of connection, an outreached hand. Those experiences restore hope, help us dream, and motivate us to step forward even when we aren’t sure we can.

To end the global water crisis, we must dream big—but lasting change comes from small, consistent actions. This is the ethos of Save the Rain. With each raindrop saved, every tank built, and every life transformed, we create a safer, more equitable world. Every recipient is known and valued. Every builder was once a recipient herself, understanding the impact of her work. Every tank built is a bridge between past struggles and a future of possibility.

The rain forges a bond of togetherness, and together is how we solve something as vast as the Global Water Crisis. The ripple effect of change starts with a single drop.

We are deeply moved by every small act of goodness that fuels our work—their impact grows when they come together. Whether you advocate, donate, or participate, your support is invaluable. Like every drop of rain, each effort builds toward something greater. Thank you for believing in the power of small actions to create something truly big.

With gratitude,

Kelly Coleman
