This year, Save the Rain celebrates 20 years of turning rainfall into hope, health, and opportunity. Together, we’ve built thousands of rainwater harvesting tanks, empowered communities, and witnessed lives transformed by access to clean water.

As we step into 2025, we honor you. Every drop of effort, every belief in our vision, and every life changed is thanks to the generosity and dedication of supporters like you. This year, we celebrate not only the past two decades but also the incredible future we’re building together.

Here’s what’s ahead in 2025—and how you’re making it possible:

Building 1,500 New Residential Water Tanks

This year, we aim to construct 1,500 new tanks, giving families the security, health, and dignity that come with clean water—right at their doorstep. Together, we can make this ambitious goal a reality!

Introducing Emmanuela’s Project: Legal Empowerment for Women

Too many women in Tanzania lose their homes and property when a man in their life forces them out. Inspired by our former teammate Emmanuela, who faced this injustice, we are partnering with legal experts to educate communities on women’s rights, ensuring their investments in home and family are recognized and protected. This initiative will provide critical legal support to safeguard women from experiencing what Emmanuela did.

News from the Field

We’re thrilled to share updates from our latest collaboration with Rotary International.

This is the seventh grant over a 15-year period where we are the cooperating organization. This transformative initiative, aptly titled “Goodbye Thirsty,” is changing the lives of 23,500 people across four villages in Tanzania.

Here’s what the grant delivers:

Clean Water: 150,000 liters of rainwater catchment capacity for drinking and cooking at the village primary school, plus 10,500 liters dedicated to sanitation and hygiene.

Education: Comprehensive WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) curriculum for schools and communities.

Sustainability: Permaculture-designed gardens, sustainable agriculture training, and reforestation with over 500 trees planted.

Empowerment: Employment for 50+ people in each village, expanding skills in building, farming, and water conservation.

Infrastructure: 40 residential rainwater catchment systems (3,500 liters each) and greenhouses with permaculture-designed gardens.

This partnership ensures no one in these villages will have to walk for water again. It guarantees health, safety, and opportunities to create an abundant life.

We are deeply grateful to Rotary International, the 33 clubs, and seven districts involved in making this vision a reality.

This is the year of bold action, big dreams, and lasting impact. Together, we can ensure that everyone has access to water.

Thank you for standing with us, for believing in the power of rain, and for helping create a world where water scarcity is a thing of the past.

Your support makes lasting change possible. Each rainwater harvesting tank costs $500 to build, providing a family with clean, safe water for a lifetime. With an ambitious goal of constructing 1,500 tanks this year, we need your help to bring health and opportunity to even more communities.

Join us in turning rain into resilience—donate today and be a part of this life-changing journey.
