Greetings from the Save the Rain team!

Over the past few months, we’ve been working tirelessly to bring clean, safe water to more communities in Northern Tanzania. Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve achieved so much!

New Tanks, New Beginnings

We’ve constructed 38 new rainwater harvesting tanks this month, providing clean water to hundreds of families and transforming lives in the process. Each tank represents a step towards a healthier, brighter future for these communities.

By the numbers…

 18 tanks in Imbaseni Village

 9 tanks in Makiba Village

 11 tanks in Donyongiro Village

Improving Old Systems

Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop at building new systems. We’re also focused on improving existing rainwater harvesting systems to enhance their efficiency and longevity. This includes maintenance checks, upgrades, and community training sessions. Our teams are currently working to upgrade old filter systems on the large primary school systems in three communities.

New Wheels on the Road

To better serve our growing number of projects, we’ve recently purchased two gutas – motorcycles with a trailer system. These additions will help us reach remote areas more efficiently and transport our materials more affordably.

Watch how the Farm Team harvests beans!

See our Save the Rain farm team in action as they harvest beans—from picking and drying to beating and sorting. This labor-intensive process ensures our community enjoys nutritious food, all while promoting sustainability and health. ✨

On the Horizon

We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our farm by 5.5 acres. This growth will substantially help our efforts to combat food insecurity and provide even more nutritious food to our community.

None of this would be possible without you. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support and belief in our mission. Every tank built, every system improved, and every life changed is a testament to what we can achieve together.

With heartfelt appreciation,

 The Save the Rain Team
